Hsinchu City announced a plan to provide a monthly health insurance premium subsidy of up to NT$826 for residents aged 65 and above, and indigenous residents aged 55 and above. The program, named 'Elderly National Health Insurance Out-of-Pocket Premium Subsidy Plan,' is designed to be automatic and without income restrictions. The city government has submitted the plan to the National Health Insurance Administration and will seek budget approval from the City Council. It is estimated that over 70,000 seniors will benefit from this initiative, which aims to reduce the financial burden on elderly residents. The city will cross-reference data with household registration systems to identify eligible individuals, who will receive the subsidy without needing to apply. Details will be announced later.
