Hsinchu County Councilor Tsai Ya-hsun stated on the 12th that Hsinchu County's social housing achievement rate is only 11.1%, and with persistently high housing prices and rents, the demand for social housing is evident. She urged the county government to expedite efforts, identify available land, and plan for the construction of social housing to offer more affordable housing options and alleviate the housing burden on residents.
County Magistrate Yang Wen-ke responded that Hsinchu County has already provided land in Zhudong and Hukou for the central government to plan and construct social housing. He affirmed that the county will continue to inventory public land and offer it for the central government's subsequent evaluation, reiterating the county government's commitment to promoting social housing policies.
Chen Ying-chou, Director of the Industrial Development Bureau, added that in addition to actively cooperating with the Ministry of the Interior's National Land Management Administration to promote the development of social housing, the county also implements various related housing policies. These include rent subsidies, interest subsidies for self-purchased housing loans, interest subsidies for renovation loans, and social housing rental management services, offering diverse housing assistance measures to individuals with rental and housing needs.
