Japanese Retailer 3COINS to Launch in Taiwan in August, Settling in Ximending

Taipei, May 16 (CNA) -- Japanese large-scale general merchandise chain "3COINS" has confirmed its upcoming launch in Taiwan. 3COINS recently announced on its official Threads social media account that its first store in Taiwan will be located in Taipei's Ximending shopping district, with an expected opening in August of this year.

3COINS posted on Threads this morning, stating, "3COINS Taiwan makes its debut, 3COINS Taiwan's first official store will officially open in August 2026 at Eslite Spectrum Wuchang in Taipei's Ximending shopping district," adding, "Let's welcome 3COINS' brand new arrival in Taiwan together."

Eslite Spectrum stated that Eslite Wuchang, with its positioning as a "free-spirited exploration, creating fresh trendy fun" main store type, emphasizes the lifestyle concept of "freshness and playfulness," becoming a popular hub for current trends in the Ximending shopping district. Japanese popular brand 3COINS' first Taiwan store will be located on the 4th floor of Eslite Spectrum Wuchang and is expected to officially open in August. More information is yet to be announced by the brand.

3COINS is positioned similarly to Daiso, as a large Japanese chain store, boasting that most items in its stores are priced at only 300 Japanese yen (approximately NT$60). Many small lifestyle items that combine Japanese quality and practical functions have made it a favorite among housewives, young professionals, and tourists.

Following the news of 3COINS' expansion into Taiwan, it immediately sparked heated discussion among netizens. Japanese travel expert Lin Shi Bi posted on the "Japan Self-Guided Travel Addicts" Facebook fan page, saying, "3COINS is coming to Taiwan!" The next key point is, "What will the price point be?"
