Man stopped for changing lanes without signaling in Kaohsiung, police discover drugs and file charges

A motorcyclist surnamed Lu was stopped by police in Kaohsiung early this morning for changing lanes without signaling, leading to the discovery of illegal drugs such as heroin. The case is being handled under the Drug Hazard Prevention and Control Act, and he faces a fine of over 90,000 TWD under the Road Traffic Management and Penalty Act.

Police from the Lingya Precinct of the Kaohsiung City Police Department noticed Lu failing to signal while changing lanes at the intersection of Zhongshan 2nd Road and Sanduo 3rd Road. After stopping him, police found two small bags of heroin (gross weight 0.63g), one small bag of amphetamine (gross weight 0.72g), one etomidate vape cartridge, and two syringes.

Police stated that after questioning, he was transferred to the Taiwan Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office for suspected violations of the Drug Hazard Prevention and Control Act and public danger crimes. A passenger surnamed Wu, who resisted and did not cooperate during the process, was subdued by police and is being investigated for obstructing official duties.

Regarding the traffic violations, officers issued citations for 'improper use of lighting' and 'drug-impaired driving,' with a combined fine of up to 93,600 TWD, and proceeded to impound the vehicle and suspend his license plates and driver's license.
