The Taichung City Fire Bureau received the report at 6:22 PM today about a fire at a restaurant located at the intersection of Hankou Road Section 1 and Hecuo East 1st Street in Xitun District, and immediately dispatched fire trucks and personnel for rescue operations.
According to firefighters, the scene was a 5-story building, with fire and smoke erupting from the stir-fry restaurant on the first floor. The blaze was intense and threatened to spread. Water lines were deployed for rescue, and the fire was extinguished at 6:45 PM.
The Sixth Precinct of the Taichung City Police Department also sent officers to the scene to direct traffic. An employee present stated that they discovered the fire upon returning to the restaurant shortly after 6 PM and immediately called for help.
