Fire Breaks Out at Stir-fry Restaurant in Taichung's Xitun District; No Casualties Reported

(CNA, Reporter Su Mu-chun, Taichung, 18th) The Taichung City Fire Bureau received a report this evening about a fire at a stir-fry restaurant in Xitun District and immediately dispatched personnel to the scene. The fire was intense at one point, posing a risk of spreading, but after extinguishing the flames, a preliminary inspection confirmed that no one was trapped or injured. The cause of the fire is pending investigation by police and fire officials.

The Taichung City Fire Bureau received the report at 6:22 PM today about a fire at a restaurant located at the intersection of Hankou Road Section 1 and Hecuo East 1st Street in Xitun District, and immediately dispatched fire trucks and personnel for rescue operations.

According to firefighters, the scene was a 5-story building, with fire and smoke erupting from the stir-fry restaurant on the first floor. The blaze was intense and threatened to spread. Water lines were deployed for rescue, and the fire was extinguished at 6:45 PM.

The Sixth Precinct of the Taichung City Police Department also sent officers to the scene to direct traffic. An employee present stated that they discovered the fire upon returning to the restaurant shortly after 6 PM and immediately called for help.
