5 Chinese Warships, 10 Aircraft Harass Taiwan; Monitored by Armed Forces

(CNA, Taipei, May 19, Reporter You Kai-hsiang) Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense (MND) released an update on Chinese military activity today. According to statistics from 6 a.m. yesterday to 6 a.m. today, the military detected 5 Chinese warships, 2 government vessels, and 13 military aircraft. Among them, 10 aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered the northern, southwestern, and eastern airspace, continuing their activities around the Taiwan Strait. The MND emphasized that the armed forces are closely monitoring and responding with mission aircraft, naval vessels, and shore-based missile systems.
