(CNA Penghu County, 19th) The automotive department of National Penghu Senior Marine & Fishery Vocational School and the mechanical engineering department of Tungnan University joined forces for the first time today to form a volunteer service team and conduct a "Wheels of Fortune" car inspection service, demonstrating the practical results of vocational and technical education through hands-on operation.
Penghu Marine & Fishery Vocational School stated that this was the first time its automotive department has offered a car repair service, with Tungnan University's faculty and students crossing the sea to participate. The teachers and students from both schools worked together to inspect vehicles, including tasks like tightening wheel lug nuts and other maintenance, providing the inspected vehicles with complete and professional basic repair services. The students accumulated valuable experience through this practical work.
The principal of Penghu Marine & Fishery Vocational School, Yen Chia-ho, visited the site to observe the teachers and students at work and expressed gratitude for Tungnan University's professional support and exchange. He mentioned that this year the service is focused on vehicles within the school, with hopes to gradually expand the service scale in the future, allowing more of the public to experience the professionalism and service enthusiasm of the automotive department.
Yen said that the core of vocational education is "learning by doing, and doing to learn." Through collaborative volunteer services with a university, students' practical experience is enhanced, and a sense of responsibility, teamwork, and spirit of social service are cultivated. This allows students to build a value system of giving back to the local community in addition to their professional skills. (Editor: Li Ming-tsung) 1150519
