Due to hot and sweltering weather, a yellow alert was issued for New Taipei City, Tainan City, and Taitung County around noon, warning of temperatures of 36 degrees Celsius or higher. Yujing District in Tainan City reached 36.5°C at noon. According to the CWA website, as of around 2 PM today, the highest temperature was 36.5°C in Yujing District, Tainan City, followed by 35.8°C in Dawu Township, Taitung County; in New Taipei City, Xindian District recorded the highest temperature at 35.6°C.
