Man Carrying Gun to Changhua Court for Mediation Hearing Stopped by Bailiff, Handed Over to Police

(CNA, by reporter Cheng Wei-chen, Changhua, 20th) A man surnamed Huang went to the Changhua District Court this morning to attend a mediation hearing and was found to be carrying a firearm. He was immediately stopped by a court bailiff. Police were notified, arrived at the scene, and seized a replica gun and two bullets. He is being investigated on suspicion of violating the Controlling Gun, Ammunition, and Knife Act and for intimidation. The Yuanlin Precinct of the Changhua County Police Department explained that officers were dispatched to the scene at 10:53 AM after receiving a report. It was understood that the 56-year-old man, Huang, was representing his family at a mediation hearing when a court bailiff discovered him carrying the weapon as he passed through the court's security gate. Police stated that one replica gun and two bullets were seized at the scene. The entire case has been transferred to the Changhua District Prosecutors Office for investigation on suspicion of violating the Controlling Gun, Ammunition, and Knife Act and for intimidation.
