(CNA reporter Wu Chia-hao, Taipei, 20th) Facebook's parent company Meta announced today the launch of its new Instants App in Taiwan, encouraging users to quickly capture wonderful moments. After taking a photo, only a simple text description can be added, with no post-production or editing possible, focusing on a zero-pressure, truly authentic social sharing experience. Meta explained in a press release that Instants is driven by Instagram accounts. Users can directly download the standalone Instants app, which opens directly to the camera. It can also be launched by tapping the plus sign in the bottom right of the Instagram direct message inbox to start taking photos. Meta stated that the sharing scope of Instants content can be freely set. Whether it's viewable by all mutual friends or limited to close friends, users can choose flexibly without worrying about being seen by unfamiliar people. Friends also cannot see each other's viewer lists, making each share feel more private. All Instants snapshots cannot be screenshotted and will disappear immediately after being viewed; even if unviewed, they can no longer be accessed after 24 hours. There's no need to worry about sending something by mistake, as an 'Undo' option appears after an Instant is sent, allowing it to be retracted immediately before anyone sees it.
