The Weighted Index opened at 40204.16 points, with an intraday high of 40439.04 and a low of 39967.08. The index excluding financial stocks was 36203.07, down 150.14 points. Changes in the eight major stock categories were as follows: cement down 1.04%, food down 1.25%, plastics down 0.66%, textiles up 1.17%, electrical machinery down 0.46%, paper down 1.02%, construction up 0.28%, and financials down 0.02%.
