The TPP also announced that it will hold a press conference this afternoon to nominate Chiu Chen-yuan for the Zhubei mayoral election. During a live interview on the radio program "Chien-chiu Wan-shih" with host Wang Chien-chiu this morning, Huang Kuo-chang mentioned that the TPP's election decision committee had met yesterday and approved the nomination of Chiu Chen-yuan to run for Zhubei mayor. A formal Central Committee meeting will also be held this afternoon, and with a very high consensus within the party, it is expected that the case will pass through the Central Committee without issue. Huang Kuo-chang said that Chiu Chen-yuan has already submitted his resignation to Kao Hung-an, and the resignation is effective immediately.
