(CNA, by reporter Su Mu-chun, Taichung, 20th) Former Taiwan People's Party (TPP) spokesperson Yang Pao-chen announced her withdrawal from the TPP via Facebook this evening and stated she will run as an independent for the Taichung City Council election in the East and South districts. As for the reason for leaving the party, she wrote in her withdrawal statement, "I do not approve of the bullying culture within the party." Yang posted on Facebook this evening, stating, "After all the ups and downs during this period, I have seen the current situation more clearly, and it is time to say goodbye to the TPP; I am thankful for the cultivation in the past, and the good memories will remain." She said that returning to Taichung is to contribute to her hometown. At the same time as submitting her withdrawal statement, she announced her independent candidacy for the Taichung City Council election in the East and South districts, hoping to offer the people there a new and different choice, regardless of success or failure.
