(CNA reporter Wu Chia-hao, Taipei, 21st) Taiwanese-native streaming video platform CATCHPLAY+ celebrated its 10th anniversary today, holding a press conference to announce its future development blueprint. It also announced the launch of collaborations with four major Korean content providers, including a Taiwan-Korea co-production project for vertical short dramas. In terms of platform expansion, CATCHPLAY+ announced it will broaden its cooperation with two major domestic system operators and an Indonesian telecom operator. It will also venture into the in-vehicle entertainment sector in Taiwan, Indonesia, and Singapore. CATCHPLAY Group CEO Daphne Yang stated that CATCHPLAY+, a platform and team from Taiwan, has accumulated valuable experience and a network of partners in film and television content, platform technology, and international expansion, which will fuel its growth for the next decade. Yang pointed out that the next step is to transition from being seen as a 'content boutique' to a 'full-service video platform' for the general public, entering the lives of more users. Facing the unstoppable trend of vertical viewing in mobile entertainment, CATCHPLAY+ has created a special 9:16 vertical full-screen experience in its mobile app. Combined with free trials and intuitive features for short dramas, this allows users to enjoy immersive short-form content that they can get into instantly on their phones during fragmented moments like commutes or lunch breaks. CATCHPLAY+ announced collaborations with four major Korean content companies at once, including importing vertical Korean dramas from CJ ENM's tvN and b.able, and an exclusive partnership with the new short-form video platform Sero. In addition to importing vertical Korean dramas, CATCHPLAY+ also announced that it will join forces with its subsidiary, Screenworks Asia, and Korean production company SLL Joongang to launch a joint development project for the 'Vertical Moments: Chinese Short Dramas' series. Regarding domestic and overseas strategic partners, CATCHPLAY+ continues to deepen its collaborations. Starting in May, it expanded cooperation with domestic broadband and cable TV multi-system operator Home+, serving users of digital and traditional two-way set-top boxes, with pre-installs reaching 900,000 households.
