June TAIEX Futures Surge 1349 Points

Taipei, May 21 (CNA) - The Taipei stock market closed up 1347.39 points at 41,368.21 today. The June Taiwan Index futures finished at 41,473, an increase of 1349 points, representing a positive spread of 104.79 points compared to the spot market. The Taiwan Futures Exchange had set the opening reference prices for the next two months' index futures contracts at 40,124 for June and 40,178 for July. The TAIEX closed today up 1347.39 points at 41,368.21, with a turnover of NT$1.012931 trillion. June TAIEX futures closed at 41,473, up 1349 points, with a volume of 53,848 contracts. July futures closed at 41,474, up 1296 points, with a volume of 481 contracts. The final closing prices are subject to the official announcement by the Taiwan Futures Exchange.
