Lin Chih-ling Declines TAICCA Board Position; Chairperson Wang Shih-ssu Expresses Regret

(CNA, Taipei, 21st, by reporters Wang Pao-erh and Hung Su-chin) After TAICCA recently announced Lin Chih-ling as a new board member, she stated on Facebook today, "I never imagined the weight of this title would be so much heavier than I thought," and decided not to accept the board position at the Taiwan Creative Content Agency. In response, TAICCA Chairperson Wang Shih-ssu expressed her regret. When the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) announced Lin Chih-ling as a new board member, Chairperson Wang Shih-ssu had stated that some of Lin's past remarks while developing her career in the Chinese market reflected the difficulties faced by Taiwanese film and television workers. She hoped to provide more space and opportunities for those willing to return to Taiwan and contribute to the industry. However, Lin Chih-ling posted on Facebook today, stating her decision not to accept the board position. She added that she will continue to focus on and practice her commitments to humanities and culture, children's healthcare and education, women's care, youth mental health, as well as the promised TCCF (Taiwan Creative Content Fest) and a 5-year, 10-film plan through her personal efforts. Lin Chih-ling expressed her deep gratitude for the affirmation from TAICCA, stating she was very honored. Her initial intention in accepting the invitation was to contribute her humble efforts to the industry, but she "never imagined the weight of this title would be so much heavier than I thought." She said, "Thank you all for your attention. After careful consideration, to avoid more non-factual speculation and misunderstandings, I have decided not to accept the position of a TAICCA board member." Regarding Lin Chih-ling's decision, TAICCA Chairperson Wang Shih-ssu said it was "very regrettable" but that she respects Lin's choice. She affirmed that regardless of whether Lin serves on the board, the collaboration between TAICCA and the Lin Chih-ling Foundation, including joint plans to develop Taiwanese films, will continue, and they will keep working together for Taiwan's film and television industry.
