Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an stated today that the specific timeline must respect NVIDIA. In February, the Taipei City Government signed a superficies rights contract with NVIDIA Classic Taiwan Co., Ltd. for the T1718 plot in the Beitou Shilin Science Park. At the time, Chiang expressed hope and anticipation for a joint groundbreaking ceremony when NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang visited Taiwan for Computex. TVBS reported today that local sources indicate the NVIDIA Taiwan headquarters will break ground on the 27th, with Huang possibly attending in person and meeting with Chiang. After attending the 2nd Taipei Shopping Go awards ceremony today, Chiang was asked by the media about the matter. He said the specific timeline must respect NVIDIA, but he is very much looking forward to seeing the new headquarters completed in Taipei soon, and the city government continues to provide comprehensive assistance through a cross-departmental task force. The Taipei City Government had previously issued a press release on April 11, stating that a special task force and a single-window mechanism would be established for NVIDIA's Beitou Shilin headquarters planning and construction schedule to accelerate reviews and construction progress, ensuring development quality and contract management. According to sources, the city government has not yet received architectural plans or other documents from NVIDIA as of press time, but has been actively communicating with the company through the task force recently.
