(CNA, New York, 20th, Comprehensive Foreign Report) Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg, this year's NBA Rookie of the Year, was unanimously selected to the All-Rookie First Team today.
According to Reuters, Flagg, who was last year's number one draft pick, is joined on the All-Rookie First Team announced today by Kon Knueppel of the Charlotte Hornets, VJ Edgecombe of the Philadelphia 76ers, Dylan Harper of the San Antonio Spurs, and Cedric Coward of the Memphis Grizzlies.
Flagg, Knueppel, and Edgecombe were all unanimous selections for the All-Rookie First Team. Harper received 93 first-team votes, while Coward received 29 first-team votes and 67 second-team votes.
In the previously announced Rookie of the Year voting, Flagg narrowly beat out his former Duke University teammate Knueppel, with Flagg receiving 56 first-place votes to Knueppel's 44.
The All-Rookie Second Team consists of: Derik Queen of the New Orleans Pelicans, Maxime Raynaud of the Sacramento Kings, Jeremiah Fears of the Pelicans, Ace Bailey of the Utah Jazz, and Collin Murray-Boyles of the Toronto Raptors.
Flagg, Knueppel, and Edgecombe were the top three rookie scorers this season, averaging 21, 18.5, and 16 points per game, respectively. Flagg ranked second among rookies with 4.5 assists per game, while Edgecombe was fourth with 4.2. Knueppel became the first rookie in NBA history to be crowned the 3-point king, making a total of 273 three-pointers this season.
Harper averaged 11.8 points, 3.9 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game in the regular season. Coward averaged 13.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.
