TAIPEI (CNA) - Following a rebound in major U.S. indices and spurred by NVIDIA's better-than-expected earnings report and financial guidance, the Taiwan stock market opened high today. In early trading, the index surged by over 1,200 points, reclaiming the 41,000-point level and reaching a high of 41,254, thereby recovering its short- and medium-term moving averages. The electronics index climbed over 3%. Bellwether stock TSMC opened up NT$55, or 2.5%, reaching a high of NT$2,240. MediaTek hit its limit-up price at NT$3,550.
