TAOYUAN, May 22 (CNA) - Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) officially launched its first research platform, the 'Precision Medicine Co-construction Laboratory,' as part of its campus science park initiative. The lab integrates biomimetic zwitterionic interfaces with advanced membrane separation technology to create a core base for high-end biomedical translation and precision medicine.
CYCU stated that the science park focuses on six core research areas: AI, cloud and quantum computing, deep databases, energy saving and carbon reduction, sustainable innovation, and precision medicine. The new lab will focus on major medical issues such as neurodegenerative diseases, rare immune disorders, cancer treatment, and nerve repair.
The unveiling ceremony was co-hosted by CYCU President Lee Ying-ming and Academia Sinica Academician Lee Wen-hsiung. President Lee emphasized that the lab demonstrates the achievements of the membrane center team and highlights the university's commitment to talent cultivation and industry-academia collaboration. Academician Lee noted that precision medicine, combined with genomics and AI, is a global trend, and the lab provides a solid foundation for cross-disciplinary innovation.
