The Taipei District Court, in its ruling on the Core Pacific City case, determined that the 20% floor area ratio bonus was illegal. Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an stated that the city would notify the developer, Core Pacific (Dingyue), of the revocation. The Taipei City Department of Urban Development has officially announced the cancellation, reverting the floor area ratio to 560%. For construction to continue, two conditions must be met: the court must lift the seizure of the land, and the developer must apply for a design change to the building permit to remove the illegal bonus. Former Mayor Ko Wen-je has been sentenced in the first instance for corruption and other charges related to this case.
