Wanted Man Arrested in Taichung After Routine Traffic Stop for Illegal Parking at Bus Stop

CNA reporter Su Mu-chun, Taichung, May 22. Taichung police discovered a man surnamed Chiang illegally parked at a bus stop in Xitun District while on patrol. When questioned, the man remained calm and claimed he did not have his ID and could not remember his ID number. However, police used their query system to discover he was wanted by prosecutors in Taoyuan and Yunlin for theft and hit-and-run. He was subsequently arrested. The Taichung Police Bureau's Sixth Precinct stated that officers patrolling Taiwan Boulevard found the car blocking traffic. Chiang claimed he was just picking up a package, but his calm demeanor raised suspicions. Officers used the 'M-Police' system to verify his identity. Once the warrants were confirmed, the man was speechless and was taken into custody according to the law.
