Footage from the venue shows Yang Jen-ni, Minister without Portfolio and Chief Trade Negotiator of the Office of Trade Negotiations (OTN), attending the morning session. The Taiwan delegation's name remains "Chinese Taipei," consistent with APEC practice. This year's APEC summit is hosted by China, with the trade ministers' meeting held in Suzhou from May 22 to 23. Yang led a delegation of OTN and Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials. According to official APEC footage, Yang attended the morning session and spoke, with her nameplate reading "Chinese Taipei." China's Taiwan Affairs Office had previously stated it would handle Taiwan's participation according to the "One China" principle, leading to concerns about potential obstruction. Photos from a previous senior officials' meeting in Shanghai showed the Taiwan delegation seated between Singapore and Thailand, indicating an alphabetical arrangement.
