Central News Agency, Taipei, May 22. The documentary 'Legendary Diva Kao Chu-hua' has been nominated for Best Documentary at the Taipei Film Awards and has reached NT$1.2 million in box office revenue. Producer Hsiung Ju-hsien stated that seeing Kao Chu-hua's 'confession certificate' for the first time made her realize the weight of the White Terror and feel a responsibility to tell her story. The film explores the life of Kao Chu-hua, the eldest daughter of White Terror victim Kao Yi-sheng, who performed under the stage name 'Pana-na,' while also revealing the heartbreaking scars left on women during that era. Hsiung shared that the confession certificate contained her name, address, and reasons for surrender, and she hopes the film allows audiences to share in the historical weight. The film is currently showing across Taiwan.
