Chiao Yu-lon, Chairman of cable and stainless steel manufacturer Walsin Lihwa, stated on the 22nd that the company's submarine cable plant has been completed. The facility is expected to finish certification this year or next, with the goal of starting production by 2028 to supply Taiwan's wind power construction projects. Chiao noted that despite US tariff impacts last year, the company's performance remains stable. Driven by AI demand, the performance of its subsidiary Winbond is excellent, contributing to a strong outlook for this year. The company continues to invest in high-end materials for energy, nuclear power, and aerospace, while leveraging its European acquisitions of SMP and DMV to expand its global footprint.
