Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an announced that the revised detailed plan for Shezi Island will soon be submitted to the Ministry of the Interior's Land Expropriation Review Committee. If approved, the city government expects to officially announce and implement land expropriation by the end of this year or early next year. Chiang explained that Shezi Island, located at the confluence of the Tamsui and Keelung Rivers, has been a restricted development zone since 1970, leading to safety and infrastructure issues. The core goal of the project is to unify planning, raise flood protection standards to a 200-year level, and improve public facilities. The city maintains a policy of relocating every household in phases.
