Since 2022, the Ministry of Education has implemented the 'Digital Learning Enhancement Program for Primary and Secondary Schools,' investing NT$20 billion to ensure internet access in every classroom and tablets for students. Currently, remote areas have a 1-to-1 ratio, while urban areas have a 1-to-6 ratio. During a press conference on the 'AI Talent Ark Project,' Minister Cheng Ying-yao expressed his hope that all 22 counties and cities will reach a 1-to-1 ratio within four years. While local governments bear significant responsibility for hardware under current fiscal laws, Nantou, Yunlin, and Changhua have already committed to full implementation. The Ministry plans to use incentive funding to guide all regions toward this goal.
