Regarding the design of the 5,000 NTD monthly 'Growth Allowance' for youth aged 6 to 18, Premier Cho Jung-tai stated in an interview that the government hopes young people will have a 'pot of gold' when they reach adulthood to help with marriage, education, or starting a business. Implementing this policy requires legal amendments, and if half of the allowance is to be mandatorily saved, the government will design a principal guarantee to ensure that the returns are not lower than a direct fixed deposit. In an interview with TTV's 'Taiwan Celebrity Hall,' Cho discussed population policy and US-Taiwan relations. President Lai Ching-te's 'New Strategy for Taiwan's Population' provides a 5,000 NTD monthly allowance for those aged 0-18, with an annual budget of approximately 200 billion NTD. For those aged 6-18, half is expected to be saved in a future fund, while the other half is paid in cash. Cho also mentioned the possibility of applying the TISA (Tax-free Investment Savings Account) mechanism to children's future accounts.
