National Security Council Secretary-General Wu Jau-shieh stated today that Taiwan's surveillance intelligence shows that China has deployed over 100 ships around the First Island Chain in the past few days, immediately following the Beijing summit (between US President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping). Wu emphasized that in this part of the world, China is the sole source of instability, destroying the status quo and threatening regional peace and stability.

The Coast Guard Administration (CGA) stated on the 22nd that it detected the Chinese research vessel "Tongji" conducting illegal activities, such as seawater sampling and seabed surveys, in Taiwan's waters. The CGA monitored the vessel throughout its operation and forcefully expelled it.

The CGA pointed out that China currently possesses over 120 various marine research vessels and is frequently expanding its activities in the Indo-Pacific and other waters. Using various surveillance methods, the CGA has tracked approximately 41 Chinese research vessels operating around Taiwan. Statistics on their activities over the past three years show they have expanded from the First Island Chain to the Second Island Chain, including Guam, and even as far as the Third Island Chain, such as Hawaii.

Wu Jau-shieh posted on the social media platform X in the afternoon, stating that Taiwan's intelligence shows China has deployed over 100 ships around the First Island Chain in the past few days, immediately following the Beijing summit. He reiterated that China is the root cause of destroying the status quo and threatening regional peace and stability.
