Truck Crashes into Hot Pot Restaurant in Changhua, Father and Daughter Killed; Police Suspect Drug-Impaired Driving

On the night of the 22nd, a light truck lost control and crashed into a residence on Zhangnan Road in Changhua City, Changhua County. Three people standing in front of the residence were struck; a man surnamed Lin (80) and his daughter (56) died from their injuries, while a woman surnamed Huang (69) was injured. The residence was a hot pot restaurant. When firefighters arrived, the daughter was trapped under the vehicle. Despite being rushed to the hospital, both the father and daughter were declared dead. The driver suffered minor injuries. While the driver's alcohol test was negative, a rapid drug test returned positive, leading police to suspect drug-impaired driving. Further blood tests are being conducted to clarify the cause of the accident.
