Hot Air Balloon Carnival to Open, Walk Inside a Balloon in Taitung's Old Station District

Central News Agency, Taitung, May 23. The Taiwan International Hot Air Balloon Carnival, a major summer tourism event in Taitung, is set to open during the summer break. In addition to viewing balloons at Luye Highlands, the county government is planning an exhibition hall in the Old Station District, allowing visitors to walk inside a balloon and immerse themselves in the Taitung sky. Bu Min-cheng, head of the Tourism Development Department, announced that the 2026 carnival will officially begin on July 4. This year, a 'Dream Rising - WALK IN Hot Air Balloon' theme pavilion will be set up in Warehouse 275 of the Old Station District. The pavilion will feature giant balloon structures, local landscape imagery, and interactive designs, allowing visitors to experience the preparation process of a balloon launch. The exhibition runs from July 3 to August 20.
