National Guanxi High School, located in Hsinchu County, announced that starting in the 115th academic year, it will officially restructure its comprehensive high school division to establish new departments: General Studies, Electrical Engineering, Business Management, and Food & Beverage Management. With subsidies from the Ministry of Education, the school is constructing the 'Tengyao Building' for specialized practical training, which is expected to be completed in 2028. Principal Chiu Yu-chieh told the Central News Agency today that the school previously operated under both 'comprehensive high school' and 'technical high school' systems. In line with the Ministry of Education's policy to adjust vocational departments in the Greater Hsinchu area, the school will transition its comprehensive high school into the new departments to deepen professional training and provide junior high graduates with clearer career paths. Regarding curriculum planning, the school stated that the General Studies department will focus on refined education, the Electrical Engineering department will incorporate AI applications and smart green energy, the Business Management department will emphasize modern digital brand marketing, and the Food & Beverage Management department will integrate creative menu design. In the future, the school will have one General Studies department and seven vocational departments. The school noted that existing departments—Horticulture, Livestock Health, Food Processing, and Home Economics—which have long been cradles for gold medalists in national skills competitions, will continue to deepen local industry-academia cooperation and professional practice, upholding the philosophy of aptitude-based education. Furthermore, with funding from the Ministry of Education's K-12 Education Administration, the 'Tengyao Building' is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in 2028.
