Premier Cho Jung-tai attended the opening ceremony of the 'Taiwan Provincial Highway 15 and 4 diversion project' in Taoyuan today, stating that the completion of the third runway will give Taoyuan International Airport the capability to challenge for the title of the world's best airport. Cho noted that the 'Taoyuan-Hsinchu-Miaoli Silicon Valley' is the first of six major industrial zones approved by the Executive Yuan, serving as a key engine for Taiwan's tech industry. The third runway project, covering 860 hectares with a 4,000-meter length, has received 37.4 billion TWD in central government funding. Once completed, the airport's hourly flight capacity will double. Cho emphasized that the government is committed to completing these projects efficiently to enhance national competitiveness and the quality of life for citizens, while ensuring close communication with local residents.
