Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado stated today that she will participate in a future election. During her visit to Panama, she declared, "I will be a candidate." She expressed confidence in the Trump administration's plans to facilitate free and fair elections. Machado thanked the U.S. government, specifically President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, for their support. Panama currently holds the vote tallies from the 2024 election, which the opposition claims were won by Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia. Machado is scheduled to meet with Panamanian President Jose Raul Mulino on the 25th.
