The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) held elections for local party chapter chairs on the 24th. Current legislator Wu Pei-yi was appointed as the chair of the Taipei City chapter. She stated that in addition to fully supporting the year-end elections, she would form a 'Taipei-Kaohsiung Alliance' with the newly appointed Kaohsiung City chapter chair, Huang Jie, to jointly promote party reform. In a Facebook post that evening, Wu thanked the 11,308 voters who supported her, stating, 'The first and most important task as the DPP Taipei City chapter chair is, of course, to ensure (DPP Taipei mayoral candidate) Shen Po-yang is elected mayor and that all 25 councilor candidates win.' She mentioned that regarding party reform, she would work with Huang Jie to push it forward. Additionally, Wu said she would start several initiatives in Taipei, including actively engaging in social welfare, forming teams with more new party members, and building a volunteer platform. She pledged to work hard to create a happy and hopeful Taipei City party chapter.
