Amid expectations that a US-Iran deal to end hostilities in the Middle East is imminent, US President Donald Trump said today that he has told US negotiators that the US is in no rush to reach an agreement with Iran. According to AFP, Trump wrote on his social media platform 'Truth Social': 'The negotiations are proceeding in an orderly and constructive manner. I have told my representatives not to rush into a deal; time is on our side.' Trump also noted: 'The blockade measures will remain fully in effect and enforced until a deal is reached, verified, and signed.' Trump had stated yesterday that an agreement between the US and Iran to end the conflict was 'largely settled,' including the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, but was still awaiting 'finalization.'
