At the Asian Taekwondo Championships held in Mongolia, Taiwanese athlete Chang Jui-en won the gold medal in the women's 62kg division today, defeating Chinese star Luo Zongshi in the final. Chang revealed that the victory was unexpected and marked a career-defining moment. The 21-year-old, who previously represented Taiwan at the Hangzhou Asian Games, performed brilliantly, defeating South Korea's Lee Gae-un in the semifinals before edging out world champion Luo Zongshi 2-1 in the final. In the first round, Chang's defensive strategy secured a victory via judges' decision. Although she lost the second round, she maintained her defensive composure in the decisive third round to win the gold. After the match, Chang knelt in excitement and celebrated with her former coach. In an interview with CNA, she expressed her gratitude to her coaching staff from Yifeng High School and National Changhua University of Education, noting that her mental growth was the key to victory.
