In the Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) local party chair elections, former Penghu County chair Lu Chang-zai defeated Hsu Kuo-ying today to return to the position. His future task is to manage the party's support for year-end local elections, with the handover scheduled for June 5. The DPP held elections for the 22nd National Party Representatives and the 17th County Party Chair and County Party Representatives today. There were 1,426 eligible voters, with Hsu Kuo-ying and Lu Chang-zai competing for the chair position. The election proceeded smoothly with a voter turnout of 27.6%. The results showed Hsu Kuo-ying with 63 votes and Lu Chang-zai with 327 votes, with 5 invalid ballots. Outgoing Penghu County Party Chair Yen Chia-kang congratulated Lu on his return to the post, noting that after the handover, he will focus on the Penghu County Council elections.
