The Daxi Precinct of the Taoyuan Police Department announced today that it conducted a joint inspection with environmental and regulatory agencies on the morning of the 23rd in Daxi District to crack down on illegally modified exhaust pipes and noisy vehicles. A total of six vehicles were found to exceed noise limits, including a Ducati large motorcycle worth over one million NT dollars. The Daxi Precinct stated that the Ducati attracted attention due to its loud exhaust, and upon testing, it reached 102 decibels, exceeding the legal limit of 94 decibels for large motorcycles by 8 decibels, resulting in an on-the-spot fine. The Daxi Precinct has conducted eight such joint operations this year, inspecting 38 vehicles and issuing 16 noise violation citations. Precinct Chief Hsu Chang-che stated that vehicles should use compliant exhaust equipment to avoid affecting residents' quality of life, and police will continue to work with environmental and regulatory agencies to maintain road safety and residential peace.
