The TLPGA WPG Open concluded its final round today at the Sunrise Golf & Country Club. Japan-based golfer Tsai Pei-ying carded 67 with six birdies and one bogey, finishing with a four-day total of 17-under-par 271 to secure a comeback victory. The TLPGA WPG Open, with a total purse of NT$15 million, is one of the most lucrative events on the Taiwan tour, featuring top players including Yani Tseng, Li Hsin, and Li Min. Tsai had surged into contention in the third round with a tournament-best 66, trailing Yani Tseng by just one stroke. In today's final round, Tsai maintained stability, shooting 34 on the front nine compared to Tseng's 36. After the turn, Tsai continued her momentum with three birdies and no bogeys for a 33, while Tseng, despite efforts to rally, could only manage a 34, relinquishing the lead. The 35-year-old Tsai, who primarily competes on the JLPGA tour, consistently performs well when returning to Taiwan. After winning the Hitachi Charity Classic last year, she added the WPG Open title this year. In a post-match interview, Tsai noted, "The 17th hole was crucial. My drive went left, and the second shot was difficult, but I managed to get it to the front of the green and save par. If I had bogeyed, given Yani's distance advantage, she might have overtaken me on the final hole." Yani Tseng, who finished second, remarked, "I felt something was off during warm-ups. I tried to adjust, and while I felt better on the back nine, my approach shots weren't ideal, missing several birdie opportunities."
