Central News. The Taichung District Prosecutors Office held a plaque-unveiling ceremony today for its 'Election Interference Task Force' for the 115 local elections. Prosecutors stated they have grasped 75 pieces of information regarding various forms of election interference, with 14 cases involving blockchain platform election betting already resolved. New methods will be the focus of investigation. The ceremony was held at the Taiwan Taichung District Prosecutors Office, presided over by Chief Prosecutor Hong Chia-yuan, with Taiwan High Prosecutors Office Taichung Branch Chief Prosecutor Lin Chin-tsun and others in attendance. Hong told the media that the prosecution is integrating resources from judicial police and ethics units to strengthen election monitoring. To date, the prosecution has identified 75 cases, including 34 cases of vote-buying, 31 cases of election betting, as well as violence, fake news, ghost voters, and foreign interference. Hong stated that 14 cases involving the blockchain platform 'Polymarket' have been resolved with deferred prosecution. In addition to traditional vote-buying and violence, the office will focus on election betting, fake news, AI deepfake technology, and foreign funding.
