The Council of Indigenous Peoples announced today that it will improve the compensation for trail maintenance teams, increasing the annual salary of each member by 50,000 NTD. This initiative aims to stabilize the frontline workforce and encourage more indigenous people to remain in their communities to protect forests and cultural heritage. Since the program's inception in 2016, 24 ancient trails have been documented and over 7,800 kilometers of routes have been maintained. The latest training program focuses on emergency medical care and wilderness safety.
