Foul Odor Reported Near GINZA SIX in Tokyo's Ginza; Suspect Sprays Unknown Substance and Flees

Around noon on the 25th, authorities received reports of a foul odor near the GINZA SIX shopping complex in Tokyo's Ginza district. Over 20 people reported throat pain or headaches, with 14 transported to hospitals. According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, an unidentified man sprayed a substance resembling tear gas in the lobby of a Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation branch before fleeing. Security footage captured a man in a black top, light-colored pants, and a white mask spraying the substance. Firefighters in protective gear were deployed to the scene. Police are investigating the incident as an assault.
