Central News Agency (Hualien) To uphold public authority and traffic justice, the Hualien Branch of the Administrative Enforcement Agency is intensifying enforcement against unpaid vehicle license taxes, traffic fines, and highway tolls. Two luxury cars were recently seized and will be auctioned in Taitung on June 2 during the national joint auction day. The Hualien Branch stated that to protect road users' rights and deter traffic violations, it is cooperating with the Ministry of Justice's 'Traffic Project' to prioritize cases with high delinquency amounts. The branch recently seized a Toyota Camry and a Mercedes-Benz after the owners ignored multiple notices. The vehicles will be auctioned at the Taitung County Tax Bureau. The Hualien Branch noted that it is working closely with tax and motor vehicle authorities, utilizing AI-powered license plate recognition systems to track down delinquent vehicles and enforce seizures and towing. The agency urges the public to pay fines promptly upon receiving notices to avoid asset seizure. Those facing financial difficulties are encouraged to contact the branch to discuss installment plans to avoid losing their vehicles.
