Regarding the potential import of labor from diplomatic ally Eswatini, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated today that labor cooperation is currently in the feasibility assessment stage. The Ministry of Labor also stated that the visit to Eswatini is to conduct an on-site assessment of the country's vocational training center and does not include a mission to evaluate the import of Eswatini labor. During a regular press conference, Yen Chia-liang, Director-General of the Department of West Asian and African Affairs, addressed media inquiries regarding the status of Taiwan-Eswatini labor cooperation. He noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinated with the Workforce Development Agency of the Ministry of Labor to send personnel to Eswatini from the 24th to the 30th for on-site assessment. The Ministry of Labor emphasized that the purpose of this trip is to assess the existing vocational training center to assist Eswatini in enhancing its training capacity, and there is no mission to evaluate the import of labor. Regarding whether to import labor, the Ministry of Labor stated that it is still in the feasibility assessment stage within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and will cooperate with them for careful evaluation. The Ministry of Labor also emphasized that even if labor were to be imported in the future, it would be done with proper supporting measures and social consensus, and would not be handled rashly.
