National Pension benefits are expected to see an increase. Minister of Health and Welfare Shih Chung-liang stated today that once the relevant legislation passes its third reading in the Legislative Yuan, it will be implemented as soon as possible. Additionally, six major social welfare subsidies will be raised by 23.5% through administrative orders. President Lai Ching-te previously indicated that homemakers not covered by other social insurance programs would receive a minimum of NT$5,000 per month upon reaching age 65. Minister Shih explained that the timeline depends on the legislative review process.
