Central News Agency, Tokyo, May 26. The Japanese stock market closed slightly lower today, primarily due to market concerns over an overheated semiconductor industry, which dragged down the tech-heavy Nikkei 225 index. Additionally, US airstrikes on targets within Iran weakened market risk appetite. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 162.10 points, or 0.25%, to close at 64,996.09. The broader TOPIX index fell 4.11 points, or 0.10%, to close at 3,938.46.
