Dementia Basic Law to be Reviewed; Premier Cho: Strengthening Multi-Level Protection

The Social Welfare and Environmental Hygiene Committee of the Legislative Yuan will review the 'Dementia Basic Law' draft proposed by various parties on the 28th. Premier Cho Jung-tai stated today that while the necessity of such a law is open for discussion, the government will continue to strengthen its efforts in prevention and care for dementia across all levels. The draft includes proposals for establishing a dementia prevention and care promotion committee at the Executive Yuan level. Premier Cho emphasized that the government will continue to provide necessary social and medical preparations for the increasing number of dementia cases across all age groups.
