(CNA, Phnom Penh, May 26) According to the Cambodia China Times, Phnom Penh police reported today that six Taiwanese nationals were suspected of establishing a telecom fraud base in a residence in Phnom Penh. They were using fake shopping websites and online stores to conduct fraud, primarily targeting citizens in China and Taiwan. According to the report, police launched a raid this morning, taking the suspects in for investigation and seizing a batch of computers and communication equipment. At 9:30 AM, police searched a residence on Street 163 in the 7 Makara District of Phnom Penh. Police found six Taiwanese nationals at the scene, including one woman, and seized four mobile phones, one all-in-one computer, nine monitors, and four computer towers. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects were using Cambodia as a base to engage in online fraud activities.
