In celebration of 'National Ocean Day,' the Coast Guard Administration (CGA) invited over 80 teachers and students from Magong Kindergarten to visit the 1,000-ton patrol vessel 'Lienchiang.' This marked the first time the children had boarded such a large vessel, and they were fascinated by the equipment and the hard work of the officers. Magong Mayor Huang Chien-chung accompanied the group, touring the deck, water cannon systems, and the bridge. CGA officers explained daily operations and maritime rescue missions, sparking great interest among the children. Mayor Huang also provided refreshments for the crew. Captain Chen Yung-feng emphasized the importance of maritime education, noting that Penghu's close relationship with the ocean makes it vital for children to understand maritime concepts from a young age. The CGA aims to promote ocean safety and increase public support for their work through such visits. The 'Lienchiang,' which entered service in Penghu in late 2024, is a key asset for maritime patrol, fishery protection, and search and rescue missions.
